We are very proud that we have a number of players that have been selected for the County Netball academy and satellite programmes (now called PDP - Player Development Pathway). This focuses on skill development of players for U13 and U15 age groups*.
Every county near us offers trials for these programmes, for North Bucks, Beds and Northants. They are paid programmes. Check the county websites for information on trial dates.
*North Bucks also offers a development programme for U11s.
For the U15s and U17s there are also Superleage Team Franchise (commercial) hubs that offer development programmes e.g. Central Warriers (was Wasps), Mavericks, Loughborough Lightning, London Pulse etc.
There are trials for all these programmes and for the performance pathway franchise futures programmes for U17, U19, U21. If you are interested in these then follow the teams on social media to see when any open trials are held.
Usually our coaches spot talent and recommend you to apply for these trials.
Good ability players can also attend regional trials to get into local regional teams that play in regional leagues (rather than local leagues )where competition is stronger.
Olney Netball Club offer players competitive match play through Club teams in local leagues (e.g. Northampton Junior League at Benham Sports Centre, Northampton or the Milton Keynes Indoor League for adults).
In our club we will encourage those of greater ability to play up with our older or adult teams for more competitive match play experience.
